5 weekends with Pierre Chesneau
Saturdays : 13:15 – 18:15 / Sundays : 11:00 – 16:30
The CresSens Method is a body-mind approach via social dances.
In this training, we use folk dances as a platform to explore the body, relationships, emotions, and the way we take our place within a group.
Social and traditional dances are not only repertoires of steps. They carry embodied wisdom about connection, rhythm, presence, and collective life. The CresSens Method builds on this wisdom to develop practical tools for physical, personal, and social growth.
This is not a regular dance course.
It is a body-mind method using dance as a system for growth.
It is also not therapy: no personal sharing is required. The personal work happens through movement, attention, and embodied practice.
The training
Over 5 weekends, we will explore Bal Folk through three fundamental relationships:
We will work on body awareness, inner balance, origin of movement, following and leading, kinetic emotional regulation, power, character, musicality, non-verbal communication, connection, and group dynamics.
The work is physical, but not athletic-performance oriented. We will alternate dancing, individual exercises, partner work, observation, analysis, and integration.
The method
The CresSens Method is based on four interconnected pillars:
Together, these axes help us go beyond the steps and find more creativity, freedom, depth, and presence in our dance.
What we will do
The training includes 50 hours of body exploration, movement research, tool-building, and dance.
Each weekend has its own themes while being part of a larger progression. This is why priority goes to full-training registrations. If places remain, individual weekends will be accessible as standalone modules.
Pedagogical tools (documents, videos, resources, and home exercises) will support the work between weekends and beyond the training.
Core areas include: interpretative musicality, polyrhythms, posture, weight transfer, counter-movements, origin of power, symmetries, improvisation, social/game/energy functions, and character expression.
What you will leave with
A clearer body organization.
More musical freedom.
Better tools for connection.
More confidence in leading, following, and role-switching.
A deeper understanding of group dynamics.
A stronger framework to understand your own dance journey.
Not just more material.
More tools to work with what is already there.
An experience for life.

He has practiced traditional dance and music since childhood, and has been teaching internationally since the age of 21, with a focus on social dances, movement pedagogy, cultural transmission, and the embodied intelligence of traditional practices.

Who is this for?
For dancers who want to deepen their practice beyond steps, and/or feel stuck in their dance journey.
You should have regular experience with Bal Folk or other social dances, feel comfortable with the basics of Bal Folk, and be able to participate in a regular Bal with autonomy.
No prior course in the CresSens Method is required.
You do not need to come with a partner. Changing partners will be part of the work. Openness to role-switching is more than welcome.
