Workshop Slängpolska and Polska with Anton Schneider (Sweden)

On the first day we will be dancing both slängpolska and turning polska. First we will start with the slängpolska which is a dance basically built on walking. Here you will get familiar with the Swedish three beat music and work on the communication with the other dancers. After that there will be turning polska, and in this part we will put focus on turning technique and how to cooperate in the dance couple.

Please  find the description of the program on the French or Dutch pages of our website. You can refer to the menu to find all information on general organisation of our workshops, prices and discounts etc.

Participants of this workshop get a reduction for the Bal XL with Bal O'Gadjo & Trio14 on the same evening. Don't forget to book your ticket on time. The bals are often sold out in advance.

We suggest all participants bring something to share with each other at lunchtime.

The Maalbeek Cultural Center does not allow people to bring their own drinks. Please respect this request. This semester, Frisse Folk offers water for free to participants in the Maalbeek.
The bar (coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer, wine) will be open throughout the day.

Anton will teach the workshops in english. If necessary, we can translate the headlines into french.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised starting time of the workshop, so we can start on time.

This is a workshop for you who have danced some traditional / folk dance (or other dance styles)  before and would like to (re)discover the Swedish polska.
At the same time it can also be a opportunity for you who are more experienced in dancing polska and who wants to have time to dive deeper into the different aspects of dancing polska.
