Workshop Not more but better & individual feed back with Pierre Chesneau

Important: For a good organisation of the different parts of the workshop, we ask you to register well in advance (minimum 24 hours).  This workshop is limited to 16 participants.

Programme

In this workshop you can improve your dance level by working on what you already have in your body. So come with your luggage! The focus will be on couple dances. The structure of the workshop is built at the crossroads between a private class and a methodological workshop to learn how to progress in your dancing.

To be a "good dancer", the most important thing is not the number of dances and variations you know, but the quality of your body awareness, your ability to situate yourself in the learning scale, and the pleasure you feel on the dance floor. That's why we're going to do "not more, but better". So we won't explicitly learn new dances or new variations.

Fair Trade Price

Good dance workshops are labour-intensive, both for the teacher and for the organiser. At Frisse Folk we want to pay for all this work in a fair way, but we also try to keep the workshops accessible to dancers with a limited budget at a discount rate.

You can support our vision by paying the Fair trade price, on a voluntary basis. More info

Practical Info

Meal

We suggest all participants bring something to share with each other for tea.

The bar (coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer, wine) will be open throughout the day.

Language

his workshops will be given in french, with some translations if necessary. Pierre can give individual feed back in French, English or Spanish.

Ponctuality

Please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised starting time of the workshop, so we can start on time.

LEVEL

Intermediate & advanced level. You should be comfortable with the basic steps of the scottish, mazurka, waltz and polka (maybe even the bourrée à 2 temps) and master the general dance position.

A basic prerequisite for this workshop is to have an open mind: you will be encouraged to look critically at the way you dance (and think), and to welcome advice and suggestions with open arms. This workshop will undoubtedly be an enriching experience for everyone!

Dance Partner

It is never necessary to register as a couple for our dance workshops. We will often change partners.

Therefore, you can register alone, as a couple, with friends …
