Workshop Musicality in your dance with Koen Dhondt

Schedule:
Part 1 :  10h30 – 12h
Part 2 :  16h – 17h30

No big problem if you're not free at one of those moments. You will receive the video right after and you can see it before the next part of the workshop.

Program

"Contretemps, repos, staccato, improvisation, syncope, anacrouse, duolet," etc…
Curious about these frequent musical patterns in folk music? Ready to explore their impact on your way of dancing? Not afraid to (learn to) improvise on the music? Then sign up for this new dance workshop! No partner or musical knowledge required.
  • Musicality, mainly for couple dances
  • Info and tips to understand folk music: structure, rhythms, bars, dances, styles, improvisations, differences…
  • Listening exercises (What dance is this? And how can I find out for myself next time? How can I predict musical elements?)
  • Variations, in connection with the music
  • How to improvise your own variations in connection with the music, during the dance?
  • If there is any time left: a little background on the difference between traditional and folk music.
