28 February 10h – 12h : Musicality for dancers – Koen Dhondt

Want to discover the most common musical structures in folk tunes? Curious about musical phenomena and ready to explore their impact on your dancing?
Not afraid to (learn to) improvise on music? Then join this workshop! No musical knowledge required.

All levels, except complete beginners

28 February 12h – 14h: Turning variations for scottish – Koen Dhondt

We are going to learn how to change the direction of rotation while dancing scottish. The couples will turn right and left alternately at different moments in the dance. We will learn the so-called 'salsa' variations and other ways to play with the direction of rotation.

Level: Workshop for advanced dancers, and for talented semi-advanced dancers who learn quickly.
You should master the basic steps of the scottish fluently, have a stable dance posture, even when learning new variations, be familiar with leading and/or following, and preferably also be open to changing roles.

1 March 12h – 14h: Flemish dances – Anita Iliaens

We connect tradition with the present and show you how Flemish dances find their place in the world of folk dance today. With a fresh approach, you will discover how simple steps lead to connection and dancing pleasure. Come along on a journey through this rich tradition of Flemish dances, with typical couple dances and dynamic group dances. And the stories that make these dances special.
