Discover the rich Portuguese dance culture with Hilde, who lived in Portugal from 2001 to 2014. Each region has its own unique traditions and dances. We will take a journey from North to South and learn typical dances from the Minho, Trás-os-Montes, Ribatejo, Beiras, the Alentejo and finally the Algarve, each time paying attention to basic steps, technique, posture and dynamics.
Several Portuguese folk bands have created new arrangements of traditional tunes. Thus, the dance culture of the different regions is shared more widely, not only within the regional folk dance groups (‘ranchos de folclore’), but also outside.
Come enjoy the southern energy of Portuguese circle and couple dances, bem-vindos!

Our workshops in Mechelen are given in Dutch, with shorttranslations into English if necessary. The teachers speak multiple languages, so you will get individual feedback in the language of your choice.
All levels: you don't need any dancing experience to participate, but experience with waltz is a plus
It is never necessary to register as a couple for our dance workshops.
Therefore, you can register alone, as a couple, with friends …
