Workshop Dances from Poitou with Koen Dhondt

Programme

During this workshop, you will learn the following dances, which Ciac Boum will play during the ball at La Tricoterie on 8 December. These playful, varied and pleasantly dynamic dances from the centre-west of France will be perfect for fans of lively group moments.

  • Avant-deux + different variations
  • Branle de l'Epine a.k.a. Branle de Noirmoutier (an authentic version, not the simplified ball version)
  • Ronde De Chantecorps
  • Maraîchine
  • Bal limousine
  • Rond de Barbâtre
  • Poraïe
  • Marchoise, Avant-deux à Coutant (if time permits)

Language

Our workshops in Brussels are usually given in French, with translations into Dutch or English if necessary. Koen is fluent in 5 languages, so you will get individual feedback in the language of your choice.

Ponctuality

Please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised starting time of the workshop, so we can start on time.

LEVEL

Intermediate and advanced level: You must master the basic step of polka. No previous experience of Poitou dances is required, but a good learning speed is not a luxury. This workshop is open to anyone who has been dancing regularly for at least 6 months (regardless of dance discipline).

We start with easy dances and gradually progress to more difficult ones, with complicated variations for advanced dancers.

Dance Partner

It is never necessary to register as a couple for our dance workshops.
Therefore, you can register alone, as a couple, with friends …
