Weekend workshop Turning variations for couple dances by Koen Dhondt & Valérie Vanparys

In the beginning of May 2022, Koen Dhondt & Valérie Vanparys teach an intensive weekend workshop at La gatte d'or in Harsin, a small village in the South of Belgium. Get ready for a weekend with plenty of joy and fun, learning, dancing, relaxing and meeting new friends!
This workshop is organised by l'Académie d'été (AKDT in short) and replaces the summer school from last year. You can register on the Website of AKDT.

Program

We are going to learn how to change the direction of rotation while dancing mazurka, scottish, waltz, polka and 5 time waltz. The couples will turn right and left alternately at different moments in the dance. We will learn the so-called 'salsa' variations and other ways to play with the direction of rotation.

The emphasis is on communication in the dance and on leading and following, with specific exercises. You will also receive some general dance tips and personal corrections.

If you have questions about the program and level (see below), do not hesitate to contact us. You can refer to the website of the AKDT for all other information.
