You can register up to the 3th class of each trimester.
Your first class is a trial session. Do not hesitate to come and try!
Have you ever felt like you just don’t understand bourrée at all? Or, on the contrary, that you’ve already figured it all out? Maybe you’ve thought that bourrée – this centuries-old dance passed down from generation to generation – just isn’t very “fun,” and maybe not really for you? Or perhaps you’ve always been a fan, and take every chance to dance it?!
Whichever of these scenarios sounds familiar, we have the perfect dance lesson for you!
Program
Ready to really walk the distance with bourrée? This course offers 6 classes of 1,5 hours, with time to practice and let things sink in.
Together with Pierre, you’ll travel through a varied repertoire:
- bourrée à 2 temps in line
- bourrée à 3 temps from Berry
- bourrée à 3 temps from Auvergne
- improvisation, simple choreographies and other bourrée games.
We’ll revisit the step, posture and musicality each time, then open new doors: phrasing, dynamics, game of improvisation, and how to feel at ease in different regional styles.

Originally from the bourrée heartlands between Berry and Bourbonnais, Pierre Chesneau has danced these repertoires since childhood and has over 15 years of teaching experience. He’ll guide you step by step so that, by the end of the 10 km, you'll feel lighter, more confident, and ready to enjoy bourrées all night long!

Practical info
Langue
Dance classes in Brussels are usually given in French, with translations into Dutch or English if necessary. Our teachers are all fluent in these languages, and you will receive individual feedback in the language of your choice.
Days off
Mandatory level
The course is open level with conditions:
- ideal if you already dance bourrée and want more clarity, repertoire and freedom
- accessible for motivated beginners, but then it’s essential to practice between classes: at home, at folk bals, with friends

You never need to bring a dance partner to our lessons, workshops or balls. You can sign up alone, as a couple, with friends or colleagues...
