Program

Folk’Anatomy invites you to a journey towards inhabiting your body sensations one step further and “co-creating” the music in your dance. Particularly well adapted to an online transmission, you can enjoy the four Folk’Anatomy workshops at home and by yourself : an opportunity to focus on your body and on your connection to the music, with no partner in your arms to “capture” your whole attention!

Each workshop proposes to zoom in on one specific body part, to better understand its bio-mechanism and create a connection between your mental understanding and your body sensation. You will revisit your posture and get a few tricks on how to release unwelcomed tensions, protect you from hurting and gain in comfort and technical efficiency in your dance, both for you and your partner. All this also aims at making your body as free and available as possible to become a musical instrument capable to join in the music on which you dance.

Folk’Anatomy workshops include a nice warm-up, followed by coming and going from anatomical precise elements to experimenting them in your dance, with a progressive focus on how this may impact your ability to really interpret the music in your own original way.
