Workshop folk dance for beginners - level 2  - Sophie Lepoutre

Programme

In this workshop for beginners and "semi-beginners", we discover the most common folk dances of level 2 .

  • The basic steps of the waltz, andro and rondeau in pairs
  • A quick review of the basic principles of leading and following
  • A few simple variations for the scottish, mazurka and/or jig
  • If there's time: Quickly brush up on the other dances from the Level 1 course (cercle circassien, gavotte de l'Aven, polka and hanterdro).

We pay a lot of attention to a good dancing posture and, if necessary, to unlearning "bad dancing habits". This makes this workshop not only suitable for beginners, but also for people who have been going to balls and festivals for a while, but never learned waltz, andro and rondeau en couple in detail.

Continue learning after the workshop?
After this workshop you can join one of the groups of the current trimester. The dance teacher will tell you more about it.

In the evening, you can immediately apply what you have learned during the Queimada, the folk ball organised by our partner Muziekpublique. Info & tickets op hun website
